RIDA Program

Who qualifies for the RIDA program? 

 Not yet citizens and who have been in the U.S. for not more than 5 years at the time of enrollment
 * For an automobile purchase, participants can not have been in the U.S. more than 3 years 
Must have earned​ income
Gross household earned income at the time of enrollment does not exceed 200 percent of the federal poverty level
Assets at the time of enrollment do not exceed $10,000,excluding the value of a primary residence and one vehicle

     Matching dollars while learning crucial life skills.

    This program is designed to promote economic independence in our New American community by teaching saving habits that will benefit our community members for the rest of their lives. Learn how to save money and the RIDA program will match your savings up to $2000 for an individual account or up to  $4000 for a family account;

    If you qualify to participate in the program, matching dollars could double your money (up to $2000 or $4000)​.

    This money can be used for important purchases including:

    - Part of your down payment on a home

    - Buying a vehicle*
    - Education/Vocational Training Goals/Professional Recertification
    - Starting your own business

    Through our partnership with the Ohio CDC, the Office of Refugee Resettlement and PNC Bank; we are leading this critical project to teach new Americans financial responsibility by providing life-changing incentives for developing saving behaviors.

    This program will also provide training for participants in Financial Education/Literacy as well as asset-specific training for achieving their goals, including understanding home purchases, how to buy a car, enrolling in educational programs and starting your own business with help from Homeport, SCORE, PNC and other ETSS community partners.

    In collaboration with the Ohio CDC and the with financial support from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)

    ​Starting in February 2020, ETSS is offering RIDA accounts to 41 qualified participants!
