ETSS relies on volunteers to help in all aspects of our programming. There are opportunities to work with youth, adults and clients in our Family Care Department. Check out the volunteer positions below to see where you want to join in!

Family Care Program Opportunities

-Teach beginning and intermediate level ESL

    Description: Lead a class of English language learners in beginning and intermediate level ESL classes

    Times: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (specific times listed here)  

-Assist in ESL instruction

    Description: Help students work through course material alongside the instructor

    Times: Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm (specific times listed here)  

-Assist in citizenship instruction

    Description: Help students work through course material alongside the instructor

    Time: Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm (specific times listed here)

Adult Programming Opportunitites

-Teach clients how to access public transportation

-Sort and organize donations

-Assist clients in 'shopping' at our free store for clothes and hygiene items

-Bilingual volunteers may be able to help with interpretation


Volunteers in the Family Care Program must attend training provided by ETSS on domestic violence and human trafficking. These opportunities generally take place at the ETSS Main Office.

-Tutor in the After School Program, Grades K-12

    Description: Tutors assist students in preparation for successful completion of Language Arts, Math and other academic subjects through one-on-one work

    Times: Monday-Friday, after school depending on site (specific times listed here)
